NOVEMBER 29, 2022

November 29, is #GivingTuesday. This day is an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity – to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and to heal.

Together, we at DVCCC believe the following:

  • We believe that all people are entitled to a safe environment free from violence. We recognize that every person is at risk, and we are committed to working collectively and cooperatively to end violence against women, men, and their children in our community.

  • We believe that each person has the ability and right to control their own life. We are committed to empowerment-based support services which affirm a person's competence to make decisions.

  • We believe we must take an active role in increasing the public's awareness that domestic violence is a crime and in advocating systems change, to reduce tolerance for domestic violence in our community.

The volunteers, board members, and staff at DVCCC are committed to this philosophy, but we cannot do it alone. Your impact can be felt with a gift of any size:

  • $25 can purchase a pharmacy gift card or provide help with cab o bus fare

  • $50 provides one night of safe lodging and food for a family in the Emergency Shelter or provides one session of group counseling including childcare for 12 clients.

  • $200 helps obtain legal representation for a Protection From Abuse Order.

  • $250 provides one week of Bridge Transitional Housing for a family.
